Deal Comp Oy has been both a manufacturer and an importer of “ruggedized” PC equipment since the 1990s. As the ICT-IoT industry has undergone a major disruption in recent years as new technologies challenge traditional solutions, we have followed the trend and launched an intensive R&D process that allows us to now offer ARM-based devices based on different processors alongside our existing x86 products. Now our product range covers both devices from renowned manufacturers and customer-specific solutions based on our own design and development work, carried out in accordance with the requirements of customer projects. The manufacture and certification of products and solutions are also part of our service. In addition, we provide our devices with a Linux-based Open Source software platform that makes application programming with QT, Python, or other tools easy and fast to implement.

Deal Comp’s strategy is to complement the so-called “BoxMoving” business with a comprehensive “one-stop-shop” service that allows customers to have an optimal and coordinated solution for integrating devices into their own system.

As the IPR of the products we develop is owned by Deal Comp, it opens the door to launch large-scale export operations in new expanding mobile IT applications, enabling the company to grow to a new size, taking advantage of the new global demand created by the aforementioned transformation. This is based on solid technological know-how and product development capabilities.

Mobile computing applications are increasingly moving from device-centric to open systems with software at the center. We can provide customers with solutions to take advantage of the opportunities presented by this transformation. On the processor side, there is a shift from general-purpose processors (e.g., x86 PCs) to application-specific processors suitable for AI and Neurocomputing, as well as real-time processing and interpretation of HD-resolution video data. These areas are the spearheads of our product development. Helsinki Regional Transport Authority invests in Passenger Information for Trunk Route Buses – new Smart Monitors also include today’s news and promotional content

Helsinki Regional Transport ( HSL ) improves the customer experience of bus travel by developing information on trunk route buses. In the future, the bus passenger will be offered better information on the progress of the journey, among other things. The installation of passenger information and advertising displays on buses is scheduled to start at the end of the year. The details of the next stop, as well as the display showing other information on the route, are located at the front of the bus, and the front and back of the bus will be smaller screens showing HSL’s own bulletins, advertising and local news. Large longitudinal smart monitors also enable communication in multiple languages and better presentation of disruption reports. On the ferries between Suomenlinna and the Market Square, on the other hand, the displays enable better information in a targeted manner for ferry users. During spring 2021, there will be a total of 122 frame buses on lines 200, 500, 510, 550 and 560. Suomenlinna’s three ferries will receive displays after the trunk buses.

The reform affects a large number of passengers, as HSL’s buses made 175 million journeys last year, a significant number of which were made on trunk lines. At this stage, the new displays will focus on HSL’s trunk lines, but the number of on-screen buses will increase annually in the future as the number of trunk lines increases. Mediahouse Keskisuomalainen’s advertising arm Neonmedia Oy delivers new displays to trunk line buses and Suomenlinna ferries. Neonmedia Oy is also responsible for the installation and maintenance of displays. Mediatalo Keskisuomalainen and its service network are responsible for the media space and its contents. Deal Comp Oy as the subcontractor for Neonmedia, has delivered the Passenger Information Displays and related computers.

The DealComp MOCCULA-RTK is a powerful stand-alone high accuracy RTK enhanced GNSS location device targeting primarily in-vehicle applications. The navigation subsystem leverages the latest technologies in sensor-based and sensor assisted GNSS location. Handover between navigation technologies is seamless and transparent. The Moccula is easy to install due to its compact size 129 x 104 x 40mm. In addition to accurate location information, it enables very fast communication, thanks to the built-in LTE CAT4-modem. You can now upgrade your existing solution with one installation. You get a very accurate location and fast data connection in one package.


The navigation engine uses integrated high-sensitivity RTK sensors supported by vehicle speed and vehicle direction data. To support legacy vehicles where CAN data access is not available, The MOCCULA-RTK can connect to 0-24VDC nominal wheel-tick and direction signals. When used in vehicles with CAN bus, the MOCCULA-RTK can extract speed and direction data from the OBD II or J1939 FMS CAN-port. The CAN system provides the highest accuracy with 10ms speed updating rate.

MOCCULA-RTK is based on a YOCTO Linux quad core ARM CORTEX A7 processor which is supported by a dedicated system management microcontroller. Local Flash storage is used for application software as well as buffering. An additional uSD card can be used for local data logging of vehicle parameters. External interfaces include Fast Ethernet,
RS-485 and Dual CAN bus ports. Four 0-24VDC range digital inputs can be used for general purpose I/O, dedicated inputs are available for emergency pushbutton and ignition key sensing. The emergency pushbutton input can connect to normally-closed chained emergency plungers for passengers and the driver. The MOCCULA-RTK can be customized to support different actions based on emergency pushbutton activation.

The MOCCULA-RTK is a fully fledged gateway router with the ability to extract vehicle health data from the vehicle CAN-bus. Modern bus systems are being incrementally upgraded to ITxPT across various stages of upgrade programs. The MOCCULA-RTK can act as an ITxPT compliant GNSS-to-IP subsystem providing location service to other data-users on the vehicle.

The design of the power supply has extensive input filtering exceeding the requirements of E-certification asd well as EN50155. The input contains an active protection circuit and multi-stage filter to ensure lowest emissions and best immunity. The input is reverse protected up to 100V and will withstand indefinite overvoltage up to 100VDC. The operating temperature range is -20 to 70C.
